What is a Miam & how does it work??

MIAM is the process for pre-solving each issue, information gathering and issues identification. It is also a requirement to attend before you apply to the court for child custody and asset division if you are married or in a civil partnership. You will also explore options to deal with issues.

Do I have to have a MIAM?

You are required to attend a MIAM in most cases before you can make a court application for child custody or financial settlement.

How long is a MIAM?

The Mediation Information Assessment Meeting usually lasts around 45 minutes.
